From the sea and the farm, to the garden and the zoo, create a host of new friends to take home with you…
Have you come for a taster day and want to learn how to make more complex lampwork creations? Come and try your hand at making all sorts of different animals that come out of the kiln complete with their own personalities! These pieces make great gifts as ornaments or keepsakes.
Your tutor, Sue, has won awards making these types of beads and will talk you through the step-by-step process of creating each animal. These could include fish, pigs, elephants, mice, ladybirds, cows, ducks and more! Students will have some choice over which animals they would like to learn how to make.
You will make your animals on the end of your mandrels, so they will only have a hole on one side. These are disguised with inclusions such as copper wire or string to create tails for the animals. Please note that because the mandrel doesn’t go through the animals, they cannot be strung like regular beads.
Your animals will be annealed in our specialist KilnCare bead annealing kiln and will be ready for collection the next day. If you don’t live locally, your beads will be posted out to you at no extra charge.
There will be a maximum of six students to ensure individual attention.
This is a LEVEL TWO course - some prior experience of bead-making necessary. If you are unsure about whether this is the right course for you, one of our knowledgeable staff would be happy to advise you on 0117 958 8820.
