Creative Glass Guild Roadmap Update - 8th April 2021
More than a year on since the world was turned upside down, and much suffering for so many people, it is nice to finally be looking ahead with some renewed positivity as spring arrives.
It is strange to think that this time last year we were in the process of cancelling classes and closing the retail shop under government orders. Pivoting to become an online focused materials supplier to keep everyone creating and busy at home. We have been able to continue this service with little disruption, while ensuring we keep our team working on site safe from the virus.
Having hunkered down, we are now looking forward to the immediate future and what it holds for Creative Glass Guild and the plan for our business in the new normal.
Half of our team have had their first vaccines, everyone here wants one (without coercion) and we will ensure that they are all able to get their inoculation before we move forward with public store visits. Thankfully this is now moving quickly!
Firstly, we are hugely grateful to all our customers for their support through the past year, especially those who have held course bookings and rolled them forward. Thank you!
We are planning our new course calendar, and will be prioritising these pre-paid customers, starting with the classes with the largest numbers of pre-bookings. We will be reviewing our full class range, and our course co-ordinator Helen will be reaching out to book you in before the dates go public. The classes will take priority over all use of workshop and equipment space, therefore we will not be able to offer space or equipment hire initially. Some of our less popular classes may be paused as part of the review.
We plan to open the store one day a week on Wednesdays for in person shopping, on an appointment only basis from 23rd June.
There will be limited numbers split into morning and afternoon groups with a maximum of 6 in each slot to ensure that there is space for people to feel comfortable, and to enable our team to answer questions and help you with your glass choices, and to ensure we maintain our service levels for our mail order customers. Please note that we do not offer a cut to size service but you can collect stock or half stock sheets from us.
We will not be re-opening on April 12th as there is also a lot of work involved in making the store suitable and welcoming for visitors, rather than just order processing. You can make a booking now. We look forward to welcoming you back again!
Best wishes and stay safe!
