Glass Painting : A Personal Approach through Play and Experimentation
A brand new and exclusive course, with glass painter Stuart Low.
This two day course is suitable for beginners and those with some experience. It will cover the core principles of mixing glass paint, trace painting, shading and firing with Stuart running practical demonstrations along the way.
The emphasis will be on finding your own way of working through play and experimentation and students will be encouraged to think outside the box, making samples using a broad range of methods which will include hand rendering, stencil, and scraffito amongst others.
Stuart Low is a Bristol based artist who designs and makes windows to commission for churches and secular buildings.
Stuart also also makes glass on a more intimate scale which he sells through a number of galleries. His work reflects observations of and interactions with nature. It derives from places he visits, walks, goes to for space and reflection or enjoys nurturing through planting and growing things. He has a unique style as a maker and glass painter who holds a respect for the traditional skills of the craft. As an artist he looks to bring a unique and contemporary spirit to the glass he chooses to make.
If you wish to develop you painting and stained glass skills from a unique perspective, Stuart is an excellent teacher who will help you grow and develop your art work.
