    Fantastic day !
    By Claire Banks

I originally booked this day as I was unable to make it to the fusing and slumping weekend , then because of erratic work schedules I had to cancel then was able to do the basic weekend anyway ! they were very understanding at the creative glass guild and I when I finally did this day I knew I wanted to cram as much as possible into the one day , possibly take advantage of the larger kilns I was going to make a huge piece of wall art but eventually decided that I wanted to learn a technique covered in the master class , I also experimented with frits, powders, stencils and reactive glass , covering many techniques with samples as well as my main project . I am amazed how much got done in one day ! Simon was a great teacher, he answered all my questions concerning how various effects could be achieved and offered lots of advice for my project . I had various hand-outs to take away with specific schedules and I am soooooo inspired to continue creating with glass . Can't wait for my project and samples to arrive in the post ! oh and lunch was great as well ! Thank-you so much to Simon and all at the creative glass guild - wish I lived nearer so I could rent a kiln and studio space !
