Pure Silver Leaf for Fusing
Finest quality silver foil (leaf) for fusing, this is a slightly thicker grade than ordinary silver leaf so can be used with fewer layers, even a single sheet to create stunning yellow/silver effects in fused glass. As recommended by Brad Walker!
- Book of 25 sheets
- Each 85mm x 85mm square
- Approx. 0.16 grams per sheet. Thickness is 1.0 to 2.0 microns approx. (use in multiple layers to increase thickness if required)
When fired as an inclusion, silver will sometimes retain its colour, often more likely with 2/3 sheets, however it can generate silver nitrate which causes yellowing. The best way to reduce this risk is fire with Crystal Clear as a cap, to minimise the reaction, or iridised glass face down against the inclusion. Silver foil also reacts with sulphur and selenium bearing glasses (usually yellows and reds) especially if placed on the top.
