UGC Artisan - Royal Blue

Creative Glass Guild are pleased to be the exclusive distributor for Unique Glass Colours in the UK. The lead free Artisan colours by Unique Glass Colours come in powder form that needs to be mixed with UGC Medium. These colours are transparent/translucent and always form bubbles when kiln fired between layers of glass and create a darker textured, opaque and glossy finish when fired on the top layer of glass.

We currently have all the range available and they are developed to be used on glass from COE85 to COE96 glass, so are compatible with our System 96 range.

Apply lightly or more heavily depending on the desired effect. Can also be used in powder form. By using specific placement techniques, you can actually control your bubbles - leave a space between lines of colour and the bubbles will follow one another! Experiment with different types of glass to see what interesting effects you can achieve.

The  colours kiln fire in the 773°C to 843°C (1425F to 1550F) firing range.

Surfaces you can paint on include;

  • Float glass
  • Porcelain
  • Terracotta
  • Recycled glass
  • Speciality glass
  • Pre-fired pottery
  • Any glass that can fire within that range

The colours can fire to much hotter temperatures when used on surfaces other than glass.

    Lovely colour
    By Emma Webster

    Love this blue colour and really enjoy using the bubbles to create a different dimension in my fused glass pieces. I’m not a painter type of fuser but just enjoy slotting some bubbles instead of just coloured glass into a piece

    Creates great bubbles
    By Tracey Gregory

    I found the UGC Artisan in Royal Blue created great bubbles. Easy to mix with the UGC medium. You can achieve lots of small bubbles with a thin layer and larger bubbles with a thicker layer. I allowed the first layer to dry before adding the second layer when creating a larger bubble effect.
