Ice - Icicle Clear Base Glass 3mm - Oceanside 96
Ice is an affordable staple base glass for kiln fired glass projects. Named for its slightly bluish hue, Icicle Clear is made using the same exacting standards as all System 96 products - the same devit resistance and tested compatibility that fusers trust world wide. We expect the ever-so slight blue hue of the new Icicle Clear fusible to be a non-issue for the majority of fusers using clear as a project base or clear cap.
- Fusible 3mm thick art glass
- Compatible with all the System 96 range of glass
- Can also be used in standard stained glass, traditional painting on glass and copper foiling applications
- Easy to cut and tested/inspected to tight tolerance standards
Clears - What are the differences?
The slight colour influences of our Clear offerings can really only be seen when looking at sheets on-edge. Think of Icicle Clear (the most economical choice) as your “everyday clear,” while pristine Crystal Clear (the highest priced option) has no colour influence and is intended for critical work like casting where colour can have an effect. Classic Clear with its slight green tint was the original Clear with pricing in between Icicle and Crystal.

Best value base glass
By Claire O’flynnI order a lot of this base glass for use in my fused glass classes. It’s perfect for most projects and a staple for your workshop. I’m never without it, can’t recommend it more. I ordered on the weekend and it arrived Tuesday morning, you can’t get better service than that. Da Iwan Creative glass

Good clear glass
By NicolaI'm always undecided between this and the Wissmach clear - I usually end up having a bit of both in stock! This Oceanside glass has a definite blue tinge when viewed from the side (even after firing) - that's not a problem, just something to be aware of. Its downside is the bubbles it sometimes contains, which tend to be quite long-and-thin, and prominent, and I find they don't fire out. It's not bad for the price though.
