Tigers Eye Gel Flux

Great product, no fumes!
By caroleI recently moved all my stained glass 'stuff' indoors from the cold garden shed, albeit slightly reluctantly because I've always worried about using flux and solder indoors.
I use 60:40 solder with copper foil, and a HAKKO soldering iron, usually around 410 degrees. This Tiger Flux is a game-changer! No spitting or popping, no fumes or nasty smells and the solder runs very smoothly. Easy to apply being a gel, cleans up really nicely (I just use warm water and a little washing-up liquid with a soft tooth brush) I'm very impressed indeed and shall certainly be using this from now on. I bought one of the small bottles to try first, but being a gel it's easier to apply to specific areas with a small artist's brush and doesn't evaporate so I think it will actually last longer than the more usual liquid fluxes.
I do still wear a face mask and open a window for some ventilation but nonetheless, this is a great product for anyone who doesn't like the fumes and smells of the more usual fluxes. - * * * * *24/12/2025
Excellent Gel Flux
By JustinI have just started using this gel flux and have to say it outperforms the standard flux I have been using by a long way. The solder runs smoother and there is no splatter from the flux. The solder is much easier to clean afterwards and stays much shiner. The solder is also a lot easier to patina
