Value Copper Foil - 1/4 inch
A new cost effective copper foil, supplied on a 33 meter (36 yard) roll. Available in copper backed, silver backed & black backed. 0.1mm thickness
Please note that the Black and Silver Backing will not take repeated soldering in the same way that premium brand foil will, and may discolour with excessive heat applied as a result when soldering. Soldering should be done as swiftly and in one pass to avoid this.

Mixed results....
By AdamThe black-backed foil works really well if you know what you are doing...
But I found that if you are slow to solder then it burns and discolours (to be fair CGG warn you of this), as well as losing adhesion. So you need to be quick and not run your iron over the same section repeatedly.
It also doesn't seem to stick well to itself, so if (like me) you often patch the corners of your foiling, then this may be an issue as the patch comes off if you are not careful when soldering.
Finally it can seep a bit of black glue - though this can easily be cleaned off the glass once the solder cools.
All said - the value makes it worth using on simpler pieces that you are confident with. - * * * * *10/02/2024
