Copper Foiling Taster Day

Copper Foiling Taster Day

Do you want to make something decorative for your house or garden? Or perhaps a stained glass light catcher or hanging to give (or keep!)? We offer a one-day course making light catchers and hangings using the copper-foiling method.

This is a LEVEL ONE course - Suitable for beginners.

What does the course cover?

You will learn how to cut glass, before choosing your glass from our fantastic range of colours, patterns and textures. You will then be taught the art of copper-foiling and soldering to join the glass together to create hangings and gifts or decorations for the home and garden.

We teach small groups with a maximum of eight to ensure individual attention.

We offer a 10% shop discount for students while on the course. Discounts apply to full priced glass and accessory glass, copperfoil, fluxes & chemicals, enamels & paints  (kilns, power tools, lead came, solder and sale items are excluded).

What do I need to bring?

Nothing but yourself and a sturdy pair of shoes (no open toes!) All of your glass, materials, and the use of tools is included.

We will provide a delicious cold lunch as well as light refreshments throughout the day. Please let us know in advance if you have any special dietary requirements. We will do our best to cater to everyone but this cannot always be guaranteed.

What are the course times?

The course starts at 10am and runs until approximately 4pm. There is a chance that it may overrun depending on progress.

We will try to make our courses accessible to all however if you have any disabilities or physical limitations of any kind we ask that you discuss it with us before booking.

    By Nora

Did 2 days with Karen from the Creative Glass Guild on the stained Glass and then the Copper Foiling Day. Had a brilliant 2 days where I learnt how to improve my cutting, soldering and copperfoiling. I had never used lead came before so those were new skills learnt and now need to be worked on. Learnt so much I have booked the 2 day Stained Glass course.

    Christmas light catchers
    By Jason leggett

I was fortunate enough to attend the stained glass Christmas decoration course on the 8th December. This was my first chance to experience copper foiling and i found the course brilliant as well as very good fun. The tutor was so lovely and made all the students feel very relaxed and we all produced some wonderful Christmas themed light catchers. I have now bought some copper foil to enable me to make some more light catchers as gifts and for my own home. This is not the first course i have done at creative and it certainly wont be the last. I would recommend all the courses to others as they have given me a new hobby that i love and continue to learn new things from.

    Many Thanks Creative glass

    Jason Leggett
