Stained Glass Course - Taster Day

If you are a beginner in glasswork and want to get a real taste for the craft behind stained glass windows and mirrors, then this is the course for you.

This is a LEVEL ONE course - Suitable for beginners.

What does the course cover?

You will choose your glass from our vast selection and our expert tutors will show you how to cut it to a prepared pattern as pictured. You will then be taught how to cut and place your lead came, solder it, cement it and polish it. You will complete a stained glass mirror to take home.

With this course we are offering you the chance to learn key skills to begin a new glass hobby, and it's a great introduction for those who wish to explore other areas of glass craft such as fusing and glass painting.

On completion of the course you will receive a Guild Membership card which entitles you to 10% off your next course as well as other benefits.

Note: This course involves working with lead, and for safety reasons we recommend that pregnant women do not attend.

What do I need to bring?

Just yourself and your enthusiasm! We provide all materials, glass, lead, solder and tools for your day. Please wear sturdy shoes (no open toes) and old clothes.

Lunch:

We will provide a delicious cold lunch from local restaurant Pret a Manger as well as light refreshments throughout the day. Please let us know in advance if you have any special dietary requirements. We will do our best to cater to everyone but this cannot always be guaranteed.

What are the course times?

The course starts at 10am and runs until approximately 4pm. There is a chance that it may overrun depending on progress.

Accessibility:

We will try to make our courses accessible to all however if you have any disabilities or physical limitations of any kind we ask that you discuss it with us before booking.

    By Emma Harris

This course is a brilliant start to the art of stained glass. As well as walking away with a mirror that you can be proud of making, its fun and really gets you wanting to do more.

amazing place to start stained glass
    By lois parker

An amazing place with support for the beginner, a great array of glass and equipment, lots of courses with expert tutors, and studio space and equipment to hire. A great place to start your love affair with glass as you won't need to find any other suppliers. I started buying basic kit here as I liked the idea of continuously learning and being able to use the big kit - kilns, sandblaster etc.
